Mary Gallivan, MBA
Mary Gallivan is the Founder of Joyline Consulting and brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in the nonprofit, higher education, and entrepreneurial sectors. She is known for helping organizations connect strategy to execution by translating complexity into clear systems, practical processes, and measurable progress.
Mary combines big-picture thinking with hands-on implementation, partnering with mission-driven teams to scale operations, improve collaboration, and build sustainable capacity. Her work focuses on thoughtful AI integration, productivity systems, and operational clarity that enables growing organizations to increase impact without increasing burnout.
A recognized voice in adopting AI wisely, Mary is a recurring guest on WCNC’s Charlotte Today, where she shares insights on AI and productivity. She has also been featured on the Your Path to Nonprofit Leadership podcast, discussing how nonprofit executives can implement AI with confidence and clarity.
Throughout her career, Mary has held senior leadership roles at CNM Ingenuity, Foundation For The Carolinas, E4E Relief, and the Jimmie Johnson Foundation. She also founded Just So Mary, a professional organizing business that sharpened her expertise in simplifying complex environments. She applies those same principles to organizational systems, technology implementation, and change management.
Leadership & Community Engagement
Mary is a Marshall Memorial Fellow, participating in the transatlantic global leadership program of the German Marshall Fund, and a graduate of both Leadership Charlotte and Leadership Charleston. She has served on boards and committees for the Women’s Impact Fund, the North Carolina Network of Grantmakers, SHARE Charlotte, Philanos and Charleston Women in Tech, and is an active member of Women Executives.
Education & Awards
Mary received her BA from Duke University and her MBA from Queens University, where she was a Blumenthal Foundation Fellowship recipient and winner of the David C. Stephens Entrepreneurship Award. She holds certifications in Prompt Engineering, Data Science for Business Leaders, and Salesforce Administration.
She is a recipient of Charlotte Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Award and The Charlotte Ledger’s 40 Over 40 Award.
